Specimen bottles are designed for general laboratory use, particularly where sterilization is necessary. They can be stored in a freezer to -40 °C (-40 °F) and have excellent chemical resistance to alcohols, alkalis, and both diluted and concentrated acids. The thick walls provide durability while still allowing the bottles to be squeezable. A shrink ring at the neck ensures a smooth interior, enabling contents to pour fluidly, while a sealing ring and semi-buttressed threads in the closure prevent leaks. The bottles are translucent and produced via the injection blow molding process for exact features and bottle stability.
