After setting, the bath will equilibrate to within a fraction of a degree of the desired temperature. A fine-tuinig dial them allows exact temperaturee adjustment. Any temperature within the operating range can be selected using the variable setting. An internal thermostat senses any over-temperature fault condition and removes all power from the bath until the internal temperature decreases sufficiently to reset the thermostat. All power is also removed if the control thermistor is disconected.The bath holds 2.5 liters (0.66 gal.) of either methanol or ethanol (not included). The bath housing is fabricated from heavy-aluminum coated with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. The top cover of the bath has two round holes (51 mm dia.) for inserting glass capillary viscometers or other instruments. An additonal hole is provided for a refereence thermometer or probe. The aluminum bath vessel measures 121 x 83 x 305 mm (4.75 " x 3.25 " x 12 "). A baffle within the bath ficilitates circulation of liquid and provides a background for easy viewing of instruments. A four-pane, "frost-free " viewing window and internal illumination by twin fluorescent lamps provide excellent visibility within the bath.
