Much like people, plants need food. While plants can generate some nutrients through the process of photosynthesis, the plant must obtain many nutrients from the environment. Using the materials provided, students can observe the effects of nutrient deficiency on plants. Specially prepared nutrient solutions (included) allow students to deprive each plant of one of seven specific vital nutrients. Over time, students determine the effects, if any, of the nutrient deprivation through physical observation of the plant's growth. Contains enough materials for three complete setups.Kit Includes:Solution A — 200mL calcium nitrate 1MSolution B — 200mL potassium nitrate 1MSolution C — 100mL magnesium sulfate 1MSolution D — 50mL potassium phosphate 1MSolution E — 25mL sodium phosphate 1MSolution F — 100mL sodium nitrate 1MSolution G — 25mL magnesium chloride 1MSolution H — 25mL sodium sulfate 1MSolution I — 50mL calcium chloride 1MSolution J — 50mL potassium chloride 1MSolution K — 100mL micronutrient solutionVermiculite, 500gCups, 24 (clear plastic, 5 oz.)Cups, 24 (clear, 7 oz.)Absorbent wick pads, 24 Radish seed
