The National Formulary (N.F.) and the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) specify amylase, protease and lipase only.Application Pancreatin can be used to promote esophageal tissue loosening in patients with esophageal tumors. It has also been shown to induce tumor necrosis suggesting it may aid in treatment response of esophageal cancer. 1Pancreatin from porcine pancreas has been used in a study to assess the treatment of pancreatic cancer with pancreatic enzyme therapy.
