Cefoperazone is a third generation β-lactam cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefoperazone exhibits antibacterial efficacy against gram positive and gram negative bacteria, inhibiting penicillin binding proteins to prevent peptidoglycan synthesis and bacterial cell wall formation.
