Details
Here is the corrected text: Raw Peridotite Specimen - Single Sample, 1" Peridotite is an iron-rich ultramafic rock whose chemistry suggests genesis from a point deep within the crust, possibly as deep as the mantle. The large crystals indicate slow cooling within a magma chamber. This specimen is ideal for teaching students about rounding and sorting, as well as for identification and classification exercises. It is also useful for comparisons with other igneous rocks and as part of lessons in Bowen's reaction series. Each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size, and color, but it will measure approximately 1" in length. Each is individually packaged, labeled, and barcoded for easy identification and storage. Selected and Processed by a Geologist Each and every specimen is selected and hand-processed by an actual geologist, ensuring that each sample exhibits defining features. Our rocks and minerals are sourced from a variety of locations around the world and are processed by hand in Victor, NY. Technical Support You can always feel free to reach out to our team of scientists and geologists for additional information or to assist you with any questions regarding our rock and mineral samples.
