Standard apparatus for analytical solid extraction, made from high-quality borosilicate 3.3 glass. Its applications include producing tinctures and aromatic alcohols, food testing, biofuels, and environmental analysis of soils, sludge, and wastes. This 600mL capacity Soxhlet Extraction Apparatus is designed for extracting lipids and other materials from solid samples when the desired compound has limited solubility in a solvent. It enables unmonitored and unmanaged operation while efficiently recycling a small amount of solvent to dissolve a larger amount of material. The apparatus consists of three separate sections: a boiling flask, an extractor chamber, and a condenser. It features interchangeable standard joints, but metal stands are not included. The extractor chamber has a 600mL capacity, and the flask has a 2,000mL capacity. Autoclavable and offering superior chemical durability, Eisco Labs' borosilicate glass can withstand high temperatures and thermal shocks, with heat tolerances of: Strain Point 515°C, Annealing Point 565°C, Softening Point 820°C.
