Details
Zinc oxide is used as a sun screener. It is serves as an additive in products such as cigarette filters, plastics, anticorrosive coatings, ceramics, glass, cement, lubricants, ointments, adhesives, sealants, pigments, batteries, ferrites, fire retardants, and first-aid tapes. Zinc oxide plays an important role in textiles as UV-absorber. It can protect rubber from fungi and UV light. As a wide-bandgap semiconductor with favorable properties, it has the potential for use in transparent electrodes, in nanorod sensors, in liquid crystal displays, as thin-film transistors and light emitting diodes, and in heat-protecting windows.
